'Write, Camera, Action!' Competition

'Write, Camera, Action!' is back by popular demand on the Swanwick program this August.

Unfortunately we do not have enough time to use everyone's scripts so we run this as a competition and pick the best seven.

Entry Criteria
As we only have time for seven scripts to be work-shopped and performed, the duration of your script must be only 5 minutes. As a guideline,1 page = 1 minute. Diana will have her timer on the night so no over-running will be allowed!

All scripts must be in proper script format. Download the example script below and/or check the BBC Writers' Room to be sure of formatting.

No names or contact details must appear on submitted scripts. Please provide them in a sealed envelope with entries. Winners will be contacted by email or post if email has not been supplied.

Three Swanwick committee members will adjudicate this competition. There will be awards for Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Script, which will be presented on the final evening.

Additional Information

List of characters - try to keep to a minimum
Props must be brought with you if you want them to be used, but please remember we have very limited space, time, etc.
You must be available on the Tuesday afternoon and evening for the actual work-shopping and performance.
If your script is chosen you will have to bring with you a copy for each of the actors, plus one for yourself.
